Dirty Laundry

Today at church we talked about sin and how it can affect the inner being of your body. How you may seem alive on the outside but inside you are slowly dying a slow and painful death. I listened while the pastor dished out example after example of our everyday sin: cheating, lying, gossip, glutiny, lust, envy, etc. and the room became dead silent because everyone could relate in some shape or form from the examples mentioned. I found myself thinking about my life and how I have "cheated on God" in my own ways and knew I wasnt alone. I looked around a room filled with 3,000 people and knew we had something in common...we all fall short of the glory of God. Something that should have made me feel better, knowing I wasn't alone, suddenly made me feel worse. How can I be a light in the darkness...salt in the earth...when I choose to continue to live in sin? Sure, I am redeemed and my sin on paper looks far better than it did but still I am a sinner in the Lord's eyes and that breaks my heart.
However, John challenged us today to push back towards the devil..sure he will put up a good fight..but after a while he will leave us alone. He challenged the church as a family (10,000 members) to partake in a 7 day challenge in order to defeat our sins. Man, the devil sure has his work cut out for him this week! I want to pass this challenge on.

You too can defeat your sin! It takes three practical steps:
1) Pray- take 15 min a day and go on a prayer walk thanking God for all of your blessings!
2) Sing- for the next 7 days listen to only uplifting music some amazing artists include: hillsong united, kari jobe, needtobreathe, fee, etc.
3) Meditate- sit in silence and rest in the fact that you are forgiven!

It's really hard to sin when you're praising God with your prayers, voices, and mind!!

I pray that this time will be a time of challenge and restoration for you!! Together we can defeat the enemy and SHOUT UNTO GOD WITH A VOICE OF TRIUMPH!
